Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to website owners. Browser storage (such as localStorage and sessionStorage) serves a similar purpose but stays on your device rather than being sent with every request.
2. What We Use
Our website uses minimal browser storage. Here is a complete list:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
utms |
sessionStorage | Preserves advertising source parameters (UTM tags) during your visit so we can measure which marketing channels are effective. This data is included in your form submission if you complete the quote request. | Cleared when you close the browser tab |
cookie_consent |
localStorage | Stores your cookie preference ("all" or "essential") so we remember your choice on future visits. | Persistent until cleared |
2b. Non-Essential Cookies (Require Consent)
The following cookies are only set if you click "Accept All" on our cookie banner:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp |
Meta (Facebook) | Used by Meta Pixel to identify browsers for advertising delivery and measurement | 3 months |
_fbc |
Meta (Facebook) | Stores click identifiers when a user arrives via a Facebook ad | 3 months |
fr |
Meta (Facebook) | Used by Meta for advertising delivery, measurement, and relevance | 3 months |
3. Third-Party Services
Our website loads resources from the following third parties. These services may set their own cookies or log your IP address:
- Google Fonts — We load the DM Sans font from Google's servers. Google may log your IP address as part of this request. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps / Places API — Used for address autocomplete. Google may log your IP address and the address typed. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — Only loaded with your consent. Used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
4. Strictly Necessary vs Optional
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for the website to function do not require consent. Our use of sessionStorage for UTM parameters and localStorage for your cookie preference falls into this category.
The Meta (Facebook) Pixel cookies listed in Section 2b are not strictly necessary and are only set after you give explicit consent by clicking "Accept All" on our cookie banner. If you click "Reject Non-Essential", these cookies will not be set and the Meta Pixel will not load.
You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site and refreshing the page, which will show the cookie banner again.
5. How to Control Cookies
You can control and delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Please note that blocking all cookies and storage may prevent our quote form from working correctly.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes. If we start using additional cookies or tracking technologies, we will update this page and, where required, obtain your consent before doing so.
